Growing up in Houston, I stayed in town when it was time to go to college. When I first started attending the University of Houston, I quickly discovered that it was going to be just as challenging as any other college might have been. Working too many hours at a part time job didn't help the GPA much either. But they were kind enough to give me a diploma and send me on my way.
That was many years ago. I recently toured the campus again and though much has changed around the perimeter, much of the main buildings are as I remember. The Ezekiel W. Cullen Building and fountains are one of those "post card" shots that everyone takes, so I had to make sure I did too.
As a young boy, I borrowed my parent's Kodak 126 film camera with flash cubes on a field trip to NASA. Needless to say, my pictures did not come out at all like I had hoped. That started me on my photo journey through high school and beyond. I continue to learn as I feed this growing passion for photography of all types. I strive to give my images a sense of realism, but with a slight edge to pull the viewer into the image. All images are Copyright Tim Stanley Photography.
