Artist's Description

The Boeing 307 Stratoliner or “Clipper Flying Cloud” was the first airliner with a pressurized fuselage. First flown in 1938, it could carry 33 passengers in great comfort and cruise at 20,000 feet, while maintaining a cabin pressure of 8,000 feet. This was a great leap in commercial air travel enabling the Stratoliner to fly above most bad weather, providing a faster and smoother ride.
This beautiful plane is found at the Boeing Aviation Hanger at the Udvar-Hazy Center, part of the National Air and Space Museum.

About Tim Stanley

Tim Stanley

As a young boy, I borrowed my parent's Kodak 126 film camera with flash cubes on a field trip to NASA. Needless to say, my pictures did not come out at all like I had hoped. That started me on my photo journey through high school and beyond. I continue to learn as I feed this growing passion for photography of all types. I strive to give my images a sense of realism, but with a slight edge to pull the viewer into the image. All images are Copyright Tim Stanley Photography.
