Description
The Mecom Fountains, at the intersection of Main, Montrose and Hermann Drive is at the crossroads connecting Hermann Park, the Museum District, Rice University and the Medical Center.
After a $100,000 renovation completed in 2008, the fountain looks as good as it did back when it was built in 1964. It even has electronically operated wind sensors that regulate the water height to guard against spray on windy days. The fountain has a total of 264 lights and shoots 8,000 gallons of water per minute.
